Literary crime fiction, politics, music, and technology
​

Born in Scotland and based in Cambridge, C.J. Farrington divides his writing time between crime novels set on the Trans-Siberian Railway, articles on British politics, political theory and technology, CD booklet notes for classical labels, and occasional essays on Liszt and Goethe. He is a Bye-Fellow of Hughes Hall, Cambridge, and a Senior Member of King's College, Cambridge. He also runs comms for a climatetech SME, SATAVIA. ​

​Previously he was a Senior Research Associate and Affiliated Lecturer at the University of Cambridge (2009-2020), following degrees at St Andrews and Edinburgh and a PhD at  Harvard and King's College, Cambridge. He was also a Visiting Academic at the University of Cape Town, South Africa.​
